Postgraduate and doctoral study
The Postgraduate and Doctoral Programs Department at G.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology of the NAPS of Ukraine trains students by the state (free) and private (paid) orders in the following specialties:
Doctoral Program:
- General Psychology, History of Psychology;
- Educational and Developmental Psychology.
PhD Program:
- General Psychology, History of Psychology;
- Psychophysiology;
- Work psychology, Engineer Psychology;
- Clinical Psychology;
- Social Psychology; Psychology of Social Work;
- Educational and Developmental Psychology;
- Organizational Psychology; Economic Psychology.
The Institute operates a PhD Specialized Scientific Council and a Doctoral Specialized Scientific Council.
The PhD Program applicants should submit:
- A filled-in application form,
- A letter of recommendation from the employer stating that upon the program completion the applicant is sure to get proper employment (to enter a contest for a state-paid PhD training),
- A personal record sheet with a photo certified by the HR department at the place of work,
- A copy of the Higher Education Diploma with a Supplement,
- A copy of the Name Change Certificate (if the name was changed),
- A certificate to prove PhD foreign language and / or philosophy exams passes,
- A list of published works. Those having no published works submit essays of up to 24 pages (one printed page) in the chosen specialty,
- A Form № 286-U Medical Health Certificate,
- An applicant’s characteristic-recommendation issued by the employer.
The passport and the Higher Education Diploma should be presented by the applicant in person.
The PhD program entrance examinations include:
- exams in general psychology and history of psychology; exam in specialty (covering higher education institution courses in general psychology and history of psychology); copies of published works or an essay of up to 24 pages in the selected specialty;
- a foreign language exam that includes:
home reading (an article in the selected foreign language of up to 10 book pages, the article oral synopsis and answering questions), a free topic discussion and a description of the examinee’s research interests;
- a philosophy exam (covering a higher education institution philosophy course).

The Doctoral Program applicants should submit:
- An application addressed to the Director of G.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology of the NAPS of Ukraine,
- A letter of recommendation from the employer stating that upon the program completion the applicant is sure to get proper employment (to enter a contest for a state-paid Doctoral training),
- A personal record sheet with a photo certified by the HR department at the place of work,
- A copy of the Higher Education Diploma with a Supplement,
- A copy of the Name Change Certificate (if the name was changed),
- A certificate to prove PhD foreign language and / or philosophy exams passes,
- A list of published works (for the post PhD reception period),
- A detailed plan ofr the Doctoral thesis (2 pcs),
- A report on the chosen scientific specialty with a description of the importance of the subject of the Doctoral thesis (2 pcs),
- A copy of the PhD certificate (a copy of the associate professor certificate (if any)).
The PhD certificate should be presented in person.

ЗВЕРНІТЬ УВАГУ!Допуском до вступних іспитів є складений іспит ЄВІ 2023 року з оцінкою за тест з іноземної мови не менше ніж 130 балів та ТЗНК – 100 балів та ЄВІ 2024 року за тест з ТЗНК – не менше ніж 160 балів.
Особи, визнані постраждалими учасниками Революції Гідності, учасниками бойових дій відповідно до Закону України «Про статус ветеранів війни, гарантії їх соціального захисту», зокрема ті з них, які проходять військову службу (крім військовослужбовців строкової служби) в порядку, визначеному відповідними положеннями про проходження військової служби громадянами України мають право на спеціальні умови участі у конкурсному відборі на навчання для здобуття ступеня доктора філософії у вигляді участі у конкурсному відборі на навчання за результатами співбесіди з іноземної мови замість ЄВІ.
Вступники складають такі іспити: психологія, додаткові вступні випробування (за необхідності).
Приймальна комісія працює з понеділка по четвер з 11.00 до 16.00.
